Community Involvement
ROTARY: M.C. Bruce is a member of the Arcata Sunrise Rotary Club. He recently earned his "blue badge" indicating that he had advanced from the beginner's membership to regular membership. (The link for the Rotary article would do nicely here)
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: M.C. Bruce is a Knight of the First Degree with the St. Mary's Chapter of the Knights of Columbus. He was recently elevated to be the Advocate of the chapter, in which capacity he interprets the by-laws for the chapter.
MC KINLEYVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: M.C. Bruce is a member of the McKinleyville Chamber of Commerce. He was one of the sponsors of the Azalea Day Parade (and he rode in the parade on the back of a pick up truck, playing guitar!). He has also sponsored local events for the Dept. of Recreation.
EUREKA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: M.C. Bruce is a member of the Eureka Chamber of Commerce.
HUMBOLDT COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION: M.C. Bruce is a regular member of the Humboldt County Bar Association. He is one of the most active members of the Bar Association's Referral Service. He has also volunteered to help their Legal Clinic.
CALIFORNIA PUBLIC DEFENDER'S ASSOCIATION: M.C. Bruce is a long time member of the CPDA. As an Orange County Public Defender, Mr. Bruce presented two legal seminars to other Public Defenders in the areas of representing a mentally ill client and in handling a fraud case.
